Having historically steered away from collecting a single player or team, I have sometimes felt that I have missed out on a number of attractive autograph cards. Consequently, I started to consider the idea of adding some specific players to my collection. As this idea began to germinate, I found myself watching the excellent 'ESPN 30 for 30: Bad Boys' documentary.

With the cards of the three main protagonists (Isiah Thomas, Joes Dumars & Bill Laimbeer), available at prices lower than the majority of active players, I decided to start to pulling together a collection of cards featuring players from the Detroit Pistons 1988-89 & 1989-90 championship winning teams.
